Howdy everyone!
Hope your week treated you well and blessings continue to rain down upon you.
As we are all aware, the economy is not doing so well and this places some pressure on us to continue to provide scholarships and excellent educational opportunities for the benefit of our Laguna People. It is during times like this that we hope you will continue to support the Foundation through donations, pledges, or just some volunteer time. We have plenty of opportunities for everyone to participate in some way.

Hope everyone out there is having a great Monday! A few quick updates:
- We are still looking for tutors for our middle school science and math programs. Drop us an email for more info!
- We are still accepting applications for new Board Members for the Foundation. Same as above, drop us a line.
- We will be hosting contest in the next week with a great prize for those folks that leave comments on this blog. If you want to get started early, that would be great! Leave a comment below and let us know who you are and how we are doing. Want more updates? Let us know! Want more pictures? Let us know. That's what we're here for.

Scholars and other Interested Parties,
The Laguna Education Foundation is searching for Tutors to help our Laguna Middle School Students in math and science, as part of our College Prep Program. You will need to be proficient in either area (math or science) and available after 3 PM until 5 PM. The dates of tutoring are flexible - one to three times per week would be great!
There is a small monthly stipend available, as well, which we can discuss.

The Volleyball Tournament scheduled for this weekend at the Laguna Middle School, has been postponed until February. At this time, we do not have a date selected, but we will update this site as soon as we know. Thanks and don't forget to visit our website and donate to the Foundation!

The Foundation is searching for local scholarship recipients and Laguna college students to apply to be a Board Member with the Foundation. Great for a resume and a fantastic way to give back to your community!
Responsibilities include:
Attending meetings
Crafting policy for the Foundation and the Higher Education program
Fundraising for education and educational programs for the Pueblo of Laguna

I hope you all had a great holiday season and a fantastic New Year's celebration. The Foundation is back, hard at work, after a wonderful break and looking forward to the challenges that 2009 will bring. As many of you are aware, we are facing tough economic times, but I know with your help we will be able to meet our goals and continue to move forward stronger than ever. So to points of business:

Happy Holidays To All Laguna Scholars!
It's always a great feeling to finish class finals and know that you have the fall term completed. The only thing left to do is turn in your fall grades and spring class schedule. You can do this in two ways: First, the fastest way is to download your "unofficial" grades and spring class schedule from your student account and fax the information to us. The fax number is (505) 552-6398. Incidently, our new telephone number is (505) 552-6377. And my e-mail address is m.conant@lagunaed.net. Second, have your college/
university forward an "official" transcript to us. They can mail it to the Laguna Education Foundation, Higher Education Program, P.O. Box 645, Laguna, N.M. 87026-0645.
Once your satisfactory grades and credit hours have been posted we will be able to process your scholarship award.
During the holidays we will be closed from Tuesday, December 23, 2008 thru Friday, January 2, 2009. Our first day back at work will be Monday, January 5, 2009. The best way to reach me during the holidays will be by email. I'll return your call if you leave me a telephone number.
You've worked hard this term.Take time out to enjoy your success with your love ones this holiday season. Be safe and take time to reflect on the blessings our creator has given us.

Howdy All,
Hope your Thanksgiving celebrations were warm and wonderful, as we are getting ever closer to the Christmas season. A few things to note:
First, the Foundation will be closed from December 24 through January 5, 2009. Although we will be checking in from time to time, no one from the office will be available. So any requests or donations for 2008 need to be sent in this next week.
Second, as you know, the economy is taking a hit and now is when we need your support more than ever. Please take the time this holiday season to make a small donation to the Foundation. Any amount is welcome. Just visit our website and click the link to DONATE. Your contribution is tax-deductible and will go along way in helping our Laguna people.
